Koko's colouring

We let Koko starts colouring since he get into school. 2yrs old. He got the right technique of holding pencil after almost a year in school. We have brought several boxes of colour pencil by the time he knows to correct way of holding the pencil. He started with a lot of scrubbing on the books. After his 3rd birthday, we notice that Koko starts to have good sense on colouring. At least, he can colour within the outline of the picture.

So, I have requested Hubby to buy the crayon for him. Crayon will be much easier as he can scrabble well with colour. Hubby always say crayon is will cause a lot of dirt and it's poisonous. Bad for Koko and the house too. I remembered that too, when I were small, crayon did cause all the dirts on the table after colouring. I told Hubby nowadays technology has improved, things have changed. Crayon too. After much pursued, at last Hubby bought the crayon for Koko. Since then, Koko starts to learn his colouring skill. Below is some of Koko's masterpiece.
I love this tortoise. Koko colours it by himself without any monitoring. A star for Koko.

Koko likes the frog to be blue.

 Tom & Jerry

Koko just loves his own way, rather than following the picture.

It happened sometimes, when Koko get too excited on his masterpiece.

Playful time

Both of them loves the sofa, as part of their favorite's toy. It's not about the expensive toys or how complicated the toys got to be. All they need is just the time that mummy and daddy can spend with them.

Pomegranate - Didi's way of eating

After I peel the fruit, I just placed it in front for Didi. Usually he'll just use his hand and usually I'll just sit beside him and eat together as not to waste the fruit. He will make most of them on the floor.

Anyway, this time I just placed it for him so that I can continue my house work. After 10minutes, I popped up to look at Didi, to see how much left over. Surprising, Didi has poured all the pomegranate to the high chair table and placed the bowl on the dining table. He started to pick up the fruit using his mouth. It must be slow for Didi to pick up the small seed using his hand, I guess. Using mouth, it's faster. Another new exploration for Didi.

Christmas Eve

It's daddy's shopping day for this week. We went to Pacific Mall in the morning. Saw a lot of sales around. We just about to start to browse through the items, Koko already said he is hungry. OK, we went down there to get his favorite chicken rice. After lunch, we thought of continuing with the shopping trip, and now Koko is sleepy, demand to carry. Can't blame on him, his fever was getting high up. Hot. So, we just went home for the boys' afternoon nap.

At night, for dinner we went to the 7Village Koey Teow Th'ng. Daddy hasn't been giving up, still trying to wanna do his shopping. There was this Pacific Warehouse Sale in Autocity. So, we ended up there after dinner. We forgot that it was Christmas Eve. Packed with cars and peoples. The sales wasn't great there.

Koko and Didi were happy though, having chance to run around at the area. With the big balloon up on the sky and dinosour lights every where. We stopped at the K-Pop & Street Dance Competition stage for awhile. What exactly is K-Pop? I'm so outdated now. Didi didn't enjoy the dance or the music. Too loud for him. Koko was having fun, can even shout during the dancing. We only stayed for 2 dances only. Koko's fever is picking up again. So, it's time to be back home.
Koko was busy having his ice-cream.

Hubby and Didi.

Didi on the bike.

On Christmas, hope to meet the Santa, we went to Sunway Mall. No luck again. Santa wasn't back yet.

Sound of music...

Didi is catching fast on words and sound. I said 'tom tom', he will say 'tom tom'. Then I said 'tim tum', he will follow 'tim tum'. 'Ding dong', Didi will be able to follow as well. As long as Didi is having the mood, he'll follow what I asked him to say.

Now, Didi has know his right and demand. He will say 'Mai' and shook his head when he doesn't want to eat or watch the movie. On the things that he wants, he will nod his head but never utter the word 'Ai'. Both Koko and Didi is clever with the word 'Mai'. On the movie program, if you have something on which is not Didi's favorite, he'll demand you to change. He will find his DVD and asked you to on it. Once the Kungfu Panda is on screen, he will look at you and smile. He will sit on his chair and watch for the next 10minutes.

When Koko didn't wanna share the toys with Didi or grab away from Didi, Didi knows his right. He will scream in his high pitch tone. It's not loud, but very high pitch. He will come to Daddy or Mummy to tell us that Koko has taken his things away. If Koko and Didi are playing together - pinching, gripping, pushing, catching,.. usually Koko is the one end up crying. Didi is a tough guy, and he will fight till the end to get his right.

This is the sound of music at home for us.

Jingle bell jingle bell

Merry christmas everyone. It's a holiday season as well. Shopping shopping. It's the best time now. Hubby bought a christmas present for me today. I requested him to pay the bill and it just become my gift.

Koko is having fever since last 2 days ago. However he still wana go 'kai kai'. Tonight,Koko just felt asleep on the car when we were on the way to the mall as he hasn't been sleeping the whole day. Blame on the ipad. Koko was stuck with the youtube until he rather missed his afternoon nap.

Didi was having fun in the mall. He could point out something which you'll never notice. The star, even the smallest ever found on the price tag. He will be able to notice every single star that came across him. On the shirt, wall, book..

This year we didn't manage to meet any santa. Santa must be on the way distributing gift and forgot to return to the mall. Koko was excited wanted to meet santa, but he didn't really mourn about it. If we saw one, it will be the first time for Didi. Didi just got to wait for 2012.

New words from Didi

Didi found this book 2 nights ago. He found it placing at the rack outside of our room. He has been reading it since then. He points, I read. We read many times as there is only 3 pages. Last night, suddenly Didi opened the book and said ‘Onion’. He pointed to the right picture as well. Why onion? Guess the picture attracted him the most.

There is another favorite from Didi recently. Berry, berry. I couldn’t catch it at first until he pointed it to me. Strawberry. My smart little baby.

22 Dec - ‘Dong Zi’ Festival

I know that every year end we will have the ‘tang yuan’. When I were still staying with my parent, mom will surely start to prepare them when the time comes. I never bother to know when it is, but I just know Chinese New Year is coming soon. The mood is good. New clothes and new shoes.  Year end, you can feel and smell the CNY wind blowing too. I love the wind smell a lot.

This year, Hubby and I thought we should let Koko and Didi learn the making of ‘tang yuan’.  We didn’t follow much on tradition stuff as both of us are not aware too. New generation I guess. As not to fully loss all the tradition, we think we should let Koko and Didi to have some feel of it. So, we just get a packet of glutinous rice flour and some food for colouring. My mom always has only 2 colours for her ‘tang yuan’ ; red and white. For me, I just prepare the pandan leave – green and sweet potato – orange. I didn’t manage to get the dragon fruit –red. There are 3 colours for our ‘tang yuan’.
Koko in action.
Koko is my superb helper.

While Didi has the instinct, it’s food. First thing he did was to taste it.

This is what we have at the end. One plate from Koko.

The final result.

One day with Didi

Babysitter asked for emergency leave on Wed to attend a relative wedding in Ipoh. Mama is on leave, so does the mummy.  I decided to take a day off, to spend a full day with Didi alone. We started our day by sending Koko to school and then headed to the market. I wanted to get some meat and vege so that can we can have lunch together later on. Didi doesn’t really like to have rice. So, I guess noodle would be good for him. I get Didi to help out so that I can start to prepare the meal. He started with the vegetable. It lasted for 10minutes.
Didi with the vege which end up in the rubbish bin.

Then, I put him to the high chair and get him some snacks. He sat there, eating happily watching me getting the meal ready.
Enjoying his snack.
Meal is ready.
‘Mee Suah Ko’ for lunch.
Didi in act.

After lunch, Didi has a hot bath in his bathtub before his afternoon nap time.
Happy boy
Didi has some game on the iPad before he snoozed off.

He only slept for less than 30min. I decided to bring him out for some hi-tea. Get ourselves a pandan cake and a ice kacang. It’s almost 3 by now. When we reached home, put Didi in front of the TV, watched Kungfu Panda. I started to prepare the dinner. Simple meal but it took me almost 1hrs++. I think I’m just slow in all the preparation. Hope things going to catch up soon when I started my cooking again.
Fried beehoon and a steam vege for dinner.
Didi couldn’t wait for Hubby and Koko, so he has his dinner early.

Glad that I spend my day with Didi without the need to worry about my work. The bonding time is precious, though it’s tiring. I guess going back to work is still my preference for now.

King of fruit

On Tuesday, when Koko got out from the car after I fetched him from school, the first question that he asked “Got durian today?”. I was wondering why he popped up this question when there was no sign for any durian around.  After I told him there is none, Koko didn’t ask anymore. Then while we were having dinner, suddenly Hubby popped the question to Koko “Do you want to have durian?”. Both of them have the same instinct. Hubby is a huge fan for durian. He can have durian for every weekend during the durian season. Finally, he found his partner to share with. Usually I’ll eat with Hubby, but I’m just not a huge fan of it. Hubby always wants to train Koko and Didi to share his interest, so that 3 of them can enjoy it at the same time.
Koko is smart, he doesn't wanna hold the durian. Just wanna eat.

Didi was enjoying the durian.

The cute face

Now, whenever I have the camera in front of Didi, he’ll start to show his cute face. Funny, playful and cheeky. He did it once and I praise him. Since then, whenever I mentioned ‘cute face’, he’ll know what to do.

Then, Koko starts to follow as well.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate – a new word for me. I just know it by the name ‘Siuk Liu’. Everyday, we have a free fruit from the company. Pomegranate is one of them. Didi loves it very much. He can take the whole fruit by himself. Some may fall down on the floor or on the table but most of them will go into his tummy. Can the seed fully digest? I think nope. I can feel some of them from his stool. Feel through my hand when I was helping him to clean up. Didi hasn’t started the toilet train yet. Wait, a couple more months before start to train him. Will come naturally eventually.  Lazy mummy now…

Oh on pomegranate. This fruit is good for constipation- with the seeds and full with Vitamin C. During my wedding, my mom has been asking me to look for the leave of the pomegranate tree. The tree must bear red flower. The leaves will be placed together in the basket which carry the ‘peng kim’/ dowry. What it is for? I don’t know. It’s just a custom to follow. Usually I never question my mom on all this custom and traditional way of handling thing. I never know about it and I guess I’ll not be able to pass it down to my boy too.

The shoes

Can you see the similarity of their shoes? Small boy wanted the big shoes. Luckily Nai Nai places 2 pair of the shoes at our house.

Yesterday lunch & dinner

It was hubby decision to cook yesterday. As usual, we will only do the most simple meal. No frying, no special skill needed and all free of oil if possible. Healthy. Once awhile you just got to get some healthy food.
Hubby's favorite steam Grouper fish. We has the head for lunch and tail for dinner. Koko always love the fish skin. He'll want nothing but only the skin. I guess this is the most soft part for him. As for Didi, he took a few of the tomato. He will always point on the tomato picture in the book for you to read for him. Didi has not been eating a lot recently. A few mouth of rice, little fish and some soup. Probably is because he has been snacking too much.

This is the typical porridge that Hubby will cook. Scallop, mushroom, dried oyster, carrot and meat. It's yummy, no doubt for it. Koko loves it too.

Beris Lake Grape Farm

If I'm on the correct track, this is the place we went for our 2nd Cuti-cuti Malaysia tour this year. One of the 8TV program, can't really remember the name, hosted by Baki Zainal featured this place. We watched it and Hubby said let's go someday. Then, the following week, we started to receive forwarded email introducing this place. So, we decided that we should go and take a look. Grape!! Something so special to happen in Malaysia. Never know that the place is just in Kedah, same state as where we are staying.

The drive was quite long. It took 1hrs++ to arrive at the place. This time we has the help from GPS. It took us there on the right spot. However, Hubby always said he has a good sense of direction. So when we were on the way home, Hubby decided to follow his own route and didn't listen to GPS. He took us for additional hour of route at the village area. Lesson learns. You can't just not to believe the satellite system in the world.

As for the grape farm, it's a  great place for eye opening, though you may not go there for second time. The farm is not really huge, but you have a nice view on the lake. If you have been to Pedu Lake before, this is the same place area. We bought from grapes to try out. They are sweet and without seed. The weather was hot and a grape juice was a perfect time.

Star of the day

Our best friend bought this BabyTalk magazine and saw this been published. It has been so long since I submitted this and has totally forgotten about it. Why I submitted? I can't remember. For a contest? But I never receive any gift until today. When I read the captions, the sentence doesn't sound right. It's like an incomplete sentences. Hmm..how did the editor choose this? Anyway, happy to know about it. I always want to shout to the world on how glad I am to have both of them. My precious..

Nana nana..

This is the most frequent word from Didi. Whenever he saw the fruit stall, he will start mumbling on these words. Nana nana. This morning, when we were at the market, Didi mentioned the same words when he saw the banana. So, I thought probably I should just buy a bunch of banana for him. He must has love to eat them. Once at home, he still kept on mumbling on the words nana, nana. Although we just have our breakfast, Didi has always want to has food almost all the time. I peeled the banana for him, thinking happily he'll just take it. No, he didnt. He just shakes his head. Sometimes, boy oh boy. You just never really know what they want. Guessing is the game. Sometimes you got it right, sometimes you don't.

Cameron Highland 2011

This was the 1st vacation of this year. Yes, Cameron again. Hubby always like this place. If to decide a last minute vacation place, we will end up in this cool greenly calm place. Not too far for us and we just love the weather and environment on top of the hill.

This is the 1st place that we brought Didi since he was born. He was already nearly 9mths old at the time. Koko was more lucky. He visited more places when he is small. If i remembered correctly, he was only around 5-6mths when we were in Cameron. Yes, Cameron is the first place Koko visited as well.

We choose to have a relax journey this round. Didn't go around a lot. Just to the typical place in Cameron which you should not miss. The Sungai Palas Tea Center - a place not to miss. It's so nice to has a cup of tea with the cold breeze of air around you. Scenery is awesome. The journey is not too long to get to this place. You can practice your driving skill while the passenger can has a good nice view.

My 2 little boys was having some fun on the ride at the Uncle Sam Farm. Koko enjoyed the most as Didi was still in the curious mode.
The flowers in the farm will just makes you love it instantly.

We went there for a 3D2N stay, in 2 different hotels. First hotel was Hotel Titiwangsa. This was for the steamboat buffet. The room is spacious and food is good. Very reasonable for the price. The 2nd hotel that we went to was Century Pines Resort at Tanah Rata. Hubby and I love this hotel very much. The first hotel in Cameron that we really enjoy. The room, breakfast, environment is fabulous.
Koko was having a lof of fun running around in the room. There is a small balcony.

I love the way Didi hug of me. Very loving and close.
Since we were at Tanah Rata, we went down to the Bharat Tea Plantation. It is located on the way up if you come up to Cameron from Tapah. We always use the Simpang Pulai way, and this was the first time that we visited this place.
In front of Century Pines Resort, there is the big playground. Koko loves it very much. He was playing until so fun that he accidently felt down from the slide area. A big cry from him. Koko was still not able to have a good balancing by himself at the time. He was only 2yrs 3mth+.

Koko was having fun.
Lastly, not to forget. The must have food in Cameron. The red juicy king.
