It's tender and soft. Thumb up!!!

The 'WHY' question

Did you ever feel tired of answering 'WHY' question?

'Why the lion just bite on the 'piku'?', 'Why there is blood?',  'Why the lion is standing there?',...it goes on and on...
Why the lion hasn't come out yet?  'Why it hide behind the bushes?'

The series of the story books

Koko will ask on every single items on the books. On his favorite page, it'll take at least 5minute for me to finish reading.Luckily the book has a good quality (logical) picture that makes me easy to explain. After you tell him the answer, he will ask you again 'Why?'.

Curiosity time...

It's glad that Koko loves the series of the book. He even asked 'Why you didn't buy the shark one?'. He just want to have all of them.

When I asked him the 'Why' question, Koko will always start his answer with 'because....'
Sometimes, he just can't find a reason and just stuck with 'because, because...'

These two is Didi's favaorite. He will fight to get them whenever we starts the reading session before bedtime.

Pink or Black

Koko noticed my new shoe this morning. I just bought it yesterday at Croc's warehouse.

Koko: Mummy, I saw your new shoes.
Me: Yes, what color is mummy's shoes?
Koko: Pink.
Me: Har?
Koko: Pink at the bottom. (drawing a circle with his finger)

Koko is a big fan of 'pink'. If for him to choose his own shoes, he will go for pink. Unfortunately, color does differentiate the gender.

KFC day

Since hubby is travelling last week, everyday we'll have meal at home. Koko said he likes to eat at home, but after so many days (1 week, is a lot), he started to get bored. Since last couple of days, I have noticed Koko has been eating very less, compare to his usual way. Even his favorite chicken rice, he has only taken a few spoon. So, on Monday I decided to bring both of them out to eat. After I picked them up from school, I brought them to Giant Mall. Once I have parked the car, Koko straight saw KFC and said he wanna has it. 3 of us sharing 6 pieces of chicken. Buy 1, next 1 50%. Buy 1 plate is not enough, but two is too much. It is better to be more than less but it was extremely too much for us. Luckily, Koko still can finish 2 pieces. They were very happy on the day.

Spaghetti vs Durian

I cooked this for dinner on last Monday. Prawn, egg, tomato, and spaghetti sauce. It looks nice and it tasted nice too (based on my taste.)
Unfortunately, Koko preferred this to the noodle.

So, now I got to work harder and harder to make lots of improvement after such a long time left behind on cooking. I'm wondering if Koko and Didi will ever remember the home cook food or will ever miss the food by their mom. hhaaiizz.....

Dumpling festival

Dumpling is Hubby's most favorite food. He doesn't mind taking them day and night. He has been taking at least one dumpling for every week since one or more years ago. This year, we were suppose to has DIY session at home during the festival. Unfortunately, Hubby got a flight to catch in the morning. We have DIY twice before, once during Uni time and another time was in 2008 before Koko was born. Hubby got a much better skill. I haven't been able to inherent the skill from my mom. It looks easy, until you really try it out.

It was last Saturday, 23 June - 5th day of the 5th Chinese lunar month, Dumpling Festival. After sent Hubby to airport, 3 of us went back to my mom's place. As expected lots of dumpling waiting for us there. It has been so many years since I sample the 'Ki-Chang'. Learn this word from Wikipedia - Jianshui zong.
Small in size, and you'll eat at least 5-6 at one time.

I remembered during school time, every year during this festival, we will need to separate the glutinous rice and rice to make 'ki-chang'. It was a very tedious job and got to do it almost every night for the whole week before the festival. The rice is transparent and more expensive compare to glutinous rice. So, the seller will usually mix them and sell in a cheaper price. However, to make ki-chang', you'll need to separate them or else when it is cooked, you'll see the white dots of the glutinous rice, instead of the transparent rice. I doesn't like to eat them when I'm small. I prefer 'Bak-chang'. Since I have left home for college till now (~16 years, wow!!), I think mom hasn't been making Ki-chang for so long, until this year. Having the chance to sample the Ki-chang again, I felt in love with them. Koko and Didi love them too. We ate them with palm sugar (gula melaka). Mom told me now it's easy, can buy the ready rice without need to separate them anymore. They are more expensive ~RM4/kg.
The 'o thing' really does matter.

After have our lunch and 'ta pau', we went back home. This was our dinner. Taking care of the 2 boys by myself, it was an amazing job - 2 more weeks to go before Hubby is back.
My mom's home cook food.
