Gunung Jerai

24 December 2012 - last trip of the year..

It was a short trip - 1hrs drive from KM to Gurun, 2hrs stayed on top of the hill and 1hrs drive home.
The last time when I were in Gunung Jerai was after my SPM 1995 with couple of good friends. We hike up, so I never really been to the very top of the hill. The resort is quite impressive. The maintenance is superb. Flowers, garden and building is impressive. It will be very relaxing to stay at the resort. Relax... without any disturbance.. no civilization.. Maybe the next time, we may opt to stay in the resort..

The flowers are very impressive. Probably there is some effect from the weather

Langkawi - Pantai Cenang

4th day: 11 Nov 2012

Before heading home, we dropped by at Pantai Cenang. Though it is nearby and we went there couple of time, we don't really take the chance to be on the beach. It was a clear morning and it was a good time to be on the beach.
Throwing shell on the beach

After awhile on the beach, we headed back to the hotel for a swim before going home.
My happy boy..

Langkawi- Oriental Village & Cable Car

3rd day: 10 Nov 2012

Oriental Village is located at the bottom of the cable car. You'll need to be there to get to the cable car area.
It's free entrance and kids can have a lot of fun too. Fish feeding, rabbit feeding, ride elephant (this is expensive, but i guess it'll take you for a big round, playground and snake photo session).

It was very hot.
They love it very much. Carrot RM1/pack.
Fish feeding. Illegal place :)
Cable car entrance.

Ticket (for mykad):
RM15/adult
RM10/child
In cable car: A Swedish couple help us with this photo. The one and only family photo for this whole trip.
At the top of the cable car.
Koko can't walk anymore.
With Daddy full strength - 22kg little boy
Top station view from the middle station. You will need to drop off at the middle station when you are going up and when coming down, you have the choice to stop or going down straight to the base station.
Sky bridge view from the top station. It was closed for maintenance.
2 station at the top. One of them.

Langkawi - Dataran Lang

2nd day: 9th Nov 2012 (Evening)
After the mangrove tour, we dropped by Kuah Town for lunch before heading to this Dataran Lang which is located besides Kuah Jetty. It was hot, under the hot sun we walked towards the big eagle for some photo shooting.
My flying eagle.
Eagle on my head
Ice-cream in a hot day. Yummy yummy..
After a walk in the hot sun, we went to the shopping mall near by.

Langkawi - Mangrove Trip

2nd day: 9 Nov 2012.

As we planned, we will be visiting 1 place on 1 day. After all, it was raining for almost every evening and as not to be too tired for the 2 little boys, we spend the noon time in bed :)

We asked around on this mangrove trip price. It ranges from RM180 to RM250 for the 2hrs boat ride.

As in official price, RM250 is for 1hrs (4 places) and RM350 is for 2hrs (6 places). If you negotiate with the boatman, they will give you RM250 for 2hrs boat ride. I saw this contact in one of the blog and make a call to him. He offered us RM180 for 2hrs boat ride, covering 4 major places. We didn't go to Anak Tikus Island and Langsir Cave which located slightly far away.

The boat at the terminal
We saw these big life lobsters caught by one of the fisherman. Total 9 of them, weight 7.7kg. He was selling this to the restaurant owner which said can be sell ard RM100-200++/kg.
We weren't on life jacket when we took the boat. Koko kept on asking "Where is the life jacket?
Why we don't wear them?" He felt very unsafe without it after watching the video clip during Kuala Perlis ferry ride, so we put it on them. Then, he kept on nagging on Hubby and I. Why you didn't put on the life jacket.
1st place: Eagle feeding or should be say as Eagle watching. The boatman told us that government has banned them from feeding the eagles as last month, there were like hundreds of them die due to high colestrol. So, now, it's only eagle watching. One thing great is you can hear the eagle sound - baby crying sound.
2nd place: Kilim Geoforest Park logo. The boatman knows where to get a good photo.
Can you spot the turtle?
Andaman Sea sightseeing. Pulau Kasut. (Shoe Island)
3rd place: Fish farm.
The famous restaurant Hole in the Wall is beside the fish farm. The boatman said it's expensive to eat there. You may wana try the other new open restaurant:
Amin Floating Restaurant.
Ikan sumpit. The fish will shoot water up, exactly to the food area. They are proned to white color. Koko was so excited as he can placed his finger nail on the edge and feel the water shooting up by the fish.
Stringray feeding. It was really a great experience for me. The two little boys was so afraid looking at me feeding the stringray.
The tour guide at the fish farm. We were lucky, only 4 of us in a boat and we can really have a feel and touch. Check out behind the tour guide, when you came in a group, you may miss some of this real opportunity.
Entering the crocodile cave, getting to the next side of the mangrove tress area.
4th place: Bat cave. Smelly... Again, Koko was trying to read the sign board.
Curious Didi. Was looking up most of the time to check out the bat.
2hrs has gone finally...
